About Norbixy

Norbixy is an independent digital tools guide. We publish plain-language explanations and side-by-side comparisons of consumer software — particularly browser extensions, ad blockers and privacy tools — for everyday users who want to make calmer, better-informed decisions.

What this site does

Most people who search for an "ad blocker" or a "privacy tool" don't want a sales pitch. They want a clear answer to a small set of practical questions: what does this tool actually do, what are its limits, what does it cost, and is it the right fit for me. Norbixy exists to answer those questions in straightforward language.

Our content is created by the Norbixy editorial team through independent research and comparison of publicly available information, focusing on usability, features and general user experience. We don't publish news, alerts, or "breaking" stories. We don't run quizzes, fake countdown timers, or pressure tactics. The site is structured around comparisons, explainers and short guides.

Why this project exists

The web around consumer software has become noisy. Many "review" sites are thinly disguised affiliate funnels: every product is "the best", every problem is urgent, every tool is "trusted by millions". That style is not useful for someone trying to make a small, sensible choice about an extension for their browser.

Norbixy is built around a simple idea: independent comparisons can be calm, honest and still useful. We label our affiliate relationships clearly, we keep recommendations modest, and we are happy to point readers to free options when those are the right fit.

What we will never do

  • Pretend to be a news outlet or a public-interest body
  • Use fake testimonials, fake editorial teams or fake credentials
  • Use scare tactics, fake alerts, or urgency timers
  • Hide affiliate relationships
  • Force email sign-ups to access information

How content is created

Research

Each comparison starts from publicly available information: official product pages, support documentation, the Chrome Web Store listing, and the publisher's privacy policy.

Hands-on use

Where practical, we install and use the tools on standard Chrome configurations to confirm setup steps, default behaviour and how the user interface presents key options.

Editing

Articles are edited for plain language and to remove promotional wording. We avoid superlatives ("best", "magnificent", "trusted by millions") and prefer measured statements.

How tools are evaluated

We use three simple criteria. We deliberately avoid star ratings or "best of" rankings, because the right tool depends on the user.

Performance

Does the tool reduce third-party requests? Is its memory footprint reasonable? Are filter lists kept up to date?

Usability

Is installation simple? Are default settings sensible for non-technical users? Can you allow individual sites in one or two clicks?

Pricing & transparency

Is pricing displayed clearly before purchase? Does the trial behave as advertised? Is cancellation possible without unusual friction?

Norbixy is a small editorial project. We do not present ourselves as a large media organisation, a regulator, or an arm of any government or industry body.

Affiliate relationships

Some of the tools mentioned on Norbixy are partners we may earn a commission from when a reader subscribes through a link on our site. Where this is the case, we say so on the page itself and label outbound links accordingly.

Affiliate relationships do not change the order in which tools are presented, do not influence the content of comparisons, and do not change the price the reader pays. Free options are included alongside paid ones when they are credible alternatives.
